It is a necessity to be prepared for future changes in the era of digitalisation, which is why we, at Vestas Aircoil A/S, strive towards becoming the first manufacturer to enable complex digital modelling of our charge air coolers and heat exchangers. Therefore, we have sent our R&D team at Vestas Aircoil A/S to participate in a 2-days workshop on digital twin held by FORCE Technology. This workshop is held prior to our upcoming project at Alfa Laval where the scope is to realise a digital twin of our existing heat exchanger.

Digital Twin

The workshop covered the fundamental principles of a digital twin (and its subcomponent) and challenges in context of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in a digital format. Some of the topics were on telemetry solutions, post-processing of data, and sensor mounting possibilities. The fruitful discussions at the workshop sparked several exciting ideas on sensor installation and data management.
