Drycoolers | Vestas Aircoil

What is a Drycooler?

Drycoolers are a natural supplement to our program of modular cooling towers and are used in many different environments that require a closed cooling circuit and can be supplied as ‘V’ shaped or frame mounted horizontal coolers.  Drycoolers are an alternative to traditional evaporative cooling towers and involve significantly lower maintenance and Legionella risk.

In cooling towers the water cooling occurs through the evaporative process allowing the water to be cooled below the wet bulb temperature. However, in a drycooler there is a finned tube wall between water and air and cooling of the water is made by heating up the air. In this case the air temperature is the lower cooling limit.

  •  No water consumption
  •  Media isolated from environment
  •  Frost prevention additive
  •  Reduced chemical requirement
